OUR MISSION

"As a child, I was raised in a religious household and had the privilege of accompanying my mother, an evangelist, as she traveled to spread the word of God. I assisted her in her mission, gaining firsthand experience of the power of community. My mother always did her best to provide for me, but it was a struggle for our family, particularly during my teenage years. In search of a better life, we made the decision to immigrate to the United States, starting a new chapter in our lives.

 

Growing up, I always envisioned myself giving back to my community and my country. But it wasn't until I returned home after many years that the reality of the situation truly hit me. I saw countless children wandering the streets during school hours, and my curiosity was sparked as to why they weren't in school. I discovered that these children were eager to learn, but couldn't attend school due to their economic conditions. That realization struck a chord in me, and I knew that I needed to do something to help provide quality education to these children regardless of their economic status.

That is when the Michael Blackson Foundation was born - a passion project born from a deep personal conviction that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their economic background. I knew that I needed to figure out a way to provide families with a quality education, and that is exactly what I have dedicated my life to doing. Together, we can break the cycle of poverty and change the world, one child at a time."
